ReplyDeleteI have to say my favorite gemstones are sapphires and topaz (am I allowed to have two favorites?)... They remind me of the ocean and the sky, not to mention the blue looks classy and beautiful in jewelry :)

My birthstone is the sapphire. I'd like to have a padparadscha sapphire some day, but I'm more of the buyer and not the wearer of jewelry.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say my favorite is diamond. I know, I know but I LOVE it. So Classy and sparkley. Is that word? But my favorite of all time has to be the pearl. Maybe its because Im a southern belle at heart. I've always wanted a necklace like Mrs Flintson!!! Love your blog keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteA necklace too!! WHAT?!?! It's beautiful! And with Naomi taking all those georgous photos, she is really showcasing your work! Anyway, asking me about my favorite gemstone is an unfair question because I actually LOVE Victorian jewelry and as I'm sure you already know, victorian jewelry focuses more on the piece as a whole than just the stone. But the pieces that I like most, tend to have saphires, rubys, amethyst, diamonds, & pearls. I was definitely born in the wrong time period when it comes to jewelry, design, & aesthetics. But that's what makes me unique I suppose! At least that is what my mom tells me... LOL!!
My birthstone is a diamond, but I must be the only girl around who isn't a fan. Give me amber, pearls, emeralds, or even malachite....I guess my hubby's getting off cheap

Aquamarine is my birthstone but it is too light in color for my taste. Is there an alternate? I know some have a traditional and an alternate???
ReplyDeleteSapphires, emeralds, blue topaz, opals....my birth stone is a yellow topaz, which I've never been crazy about. The pearls are gorgeous though!

I love almost any gemstone in a solid color with a great cut that shows off the color. Simpler the better. I'm partial to pink, blue, and yellow though.
