  2. I'm not sure how to properly subscribe but I'm going to do everything I can to win those pearls! They are beautiful! And Naomi, that pic is just stunning! Anyway, I've mentioned your blog on facebook (which I'm already a fan), Twitter, and my own blog "The Beauty and Irony of LIfe". As a bonus, your blog has been added to my igoogle homepage so you should feel extra special :) As for a question about jewelry, I was wondering if the posts on the earrings were titanium or sterilized steel because I don't know if I have an allergy to metals. All I know if that my ears get itchy when I wear cheap jewelry, so I think I just have an allergy to cheapness.. LOL! Here are the links because I didn't know how to do it any other way...

  3. Hey Amir! Congrats on your new blog! I think it's a great concept.

I would like to know if you would recommend replacing gemstones in a treasured piece of jewelry, keep the jewelry item in its original form, or use the stones in the jewelry to design and recreate something new?

The earrings are a beauty and I'd love to add them to my collection!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  4. Amir, this site will be a lifesaver to men around the world! My questions are based on what "everyday people" told me, but I have never asked a jeweler, so here we go...

    1. What is the recommended monthly salary savings for an engagement ring?

    2. After marriage, when should the ring be upgraded?

    3. Can you say "wedding ring" 10 times real fast without messing up?

    Thanks man!

  5. Hi Amir-

I used to work with Naomi and Im really impressed with your blog. My question is: I have a marquee cut diamond engagement that was passed down from my mother. The ring just doesn't sparkle the way I would like it to. I got it professionally cleaned once and it looked awesome for about a week. Any suggestions or at home cleaners you can recommend?

  7. Congrats on starting your first blog! I love pearls and these are beautiful. I will share this on twitter (that's where I learned of your blog). My question is: How do you properly clean pearls? I love and own several pearl pieces and I'm always afraid to use a basic jewerly cleaning solution to clean them. I always use a mild dish detergent.

  8. Subscribed to your blog to my google homepage :) Like most women I love beautiful jewelry.I think it's amazing how knowledgeable you are about it, there is soo much to know. It's nice to to talk to someone who is really interested in the quality of the piece, and can make you appreciate what you're looking at.

My question is how did they get the different colors in the pearls? Is it something that they add? And how long does it take to make a pearl? Are there things that you look for to avoid buying low quality pearls?

Wow, I actually have a lot of questions now that I get to thinking about it, lol.

Anyway, good luck with the blog and I'll be tuning in to read for sure!

  11. Hi Amir. The countdown is over and you have arrived in a very big way. Love the blog. Pearl earrings are such a classic and the colors of the pearls make them that much more modern.

  13. Hi, Amir,
I just shared your blog on my Facebook page!! I can't wait to see what kind of advice you have to share on here. I am not engaged as of yet, but would like to know how would I possibly keep the ring in which you modified for me in pristine sparkling condition?

    Thanks!!

now for a question...I would love to take the diamonds from my wedding ring and have it re done in white gold...would it be better to dip the gold in white gold or redesign the ring with white gold using my diamonds????

    Thanks

  17. Congrats on starting your new blog, Amir! I added your blog to my Google Reader last week.

In a few months I'll have my 10yr anniversary. I was thinking of changing my wedding bands. They are skinny platinum bands. I think I would get thicker platinum bands. Are there jewelry trends to avoid. I want my rings to remain classic looking; it that impossible?

Thanks for a chance to win the earrings!
